What is
genuine inclusive education, and what is it not? We discussed
this important topic at the February workshops. To help build
shared knowledge, we have designed a downloadable A4 information
sheet that you can use with your school community, including your
teaching colleagues, families, community members, and allied
health professionals.
This is the first handout in our series.

Workshop
participants from the Saturday Inclusive Practice workshop in
Alice Springs in February form the Inclusive Practice
Collective! This group continue to meet, with our first session
on Thursday 6 March, 2025. Eight educators from Central region
joined Haley on Teams where we discussed inclusive practice
using visual supports and accessible classroom language. We
will continue to meet as a group and for individual
professional conversations between now and when the QUT team
returns to Alice Springs in May.

In 2019,
the Norther Territory Department of Education and Training
released the Framework for Inclusion 2019 – 2029.
This important document guides a 10-year strategy
to build an inclusive education system for all school students in
the Northern Territory.
